Hello, fellow humans,

If you’ve found your way here, and you aren’t just a search engine crawler, perhaps you’re a little curious about me and this website. So, let me tell you the story.

My name is Nguyễn Huy Bảo (nguyenhuybao.com you know), a man living in Vietnam. You can call me Bao, or Nguyen.

When I first started this blog, I intended for it to be a personal project—you know, a way to earn some "beer money." Back then, I planned to write deeply about music and movies. Needless to say, I succeeded in gaining a lot of... experience. People would obviously choose People or TMZ over my amateur, "trying-to-be-a-journalist" posts. After all, what kind of expertise did I even have?

Then one day, I thought, "Fuck it, why am I spending 15 bucks a year on this?" So, I decided to wipe all the old posts. From now on, I’m only writing what I like—mostly about myself and my life.

Lately, I’ve noticed quite a few Western travelers coming to Vietnam. Forget it—I know what you’re thinking, but this isn't a travel blog. I’ve probably traveled fewer times than I have fingers on both hands. But if you’re looking for a local’s perspective on Vietnam, maybe I’ll have something for you. Let’s skip the politics, though. Who am I, the President? No matter where you live, there are always things you're better off ignoring for your own peace of mind.

I think that’s enough for now. Cheers.
